The rebel Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) is partnering with Australian Red Cross to raise funds and awareness during the WBBL|05 Finals Weekend for Australians impacted by this year’s disasters, including the recent bushfires.
Fires across several states of the country have burnt hundreds of thousands of hectares and destroyed hundreds of properties with the loss of six lives.
Over the Finals Weekend in Brisbane, volunteers will be fundraising for Australian Red Cross at the ground and Emergency Services Personnel will be welcome to come to the ground free of charge.
Adelaide Strikers’ all-rounder Sophie Devine will also use her ‘zinc challenge’ to raise money for the Red Cross. This season Devine has donned blue zinc and challenged members of the opposing team to do the same, donating $100 to the charity of her rivals’ choice on each occasion.

In the WBBL’s first standalone season, the Semi-Finals and Final will be held in Brisbane at Allan Border Field. Both Semi-Finals will take place on Saturday 7 December, with the Final to be played at the same location on Sunday 8 December. All finals will be broadcast live on the Seven Network, FOX Cricket, cricket.com.au, Kayo and ABC Radio.
