The ICC T20 World Cup 2020 is going in to bat for grassroots cricket with the launch of a fundraising program that is open to every registered cricket club across Australia.
Each ticket purchased through a participating club to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will earn a rebate of $5 for every adult ticket and $1 for a child ticket. There is no cap on the number of tickets each club can sell.
All matches to the women’s event are accessibly priced from $20 for adults and $5 for children, including the opening match on 21 February 2020 between Australia and India at Sydney Showground Stadium and the final at the MCG on Sunday 8 March 2020, International Women’s Day.
Clubs can register for the program today at t20worldcup.com/clubs with a unique URL and promotional materials to be provided by the Local Organising Committee upon successful registration. All clubs must be registered through MyCricket to be able to participate in the program.
The Community Cricket Clubs Ticketing Program is an initiative designed to encourage clubs to show their support for women in sport. As such, clubs will receive a rebate on tickets purchased to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
ICC T20 World Cup Local Organising Committee CEO Nick Hockley said;
“We passionately believe in the power of major sporting events to deliver positive, lasting impacts in the community.”
“This program is the first of its kind for a major world cricket event in Australia and is an opportunity for clubs to gain a tangible benefit from hosting a home World Cup.
“It also presents an opportunity for Australian Cricket to show leadership in supporting the growing momentum in the women’s game.
“We encourage all clubs across Australia to sign up today and start raising funds for their grass roots programs.”
Tickets to the women’s and men’s events are on sale now at t20worldcup.com.
