Indigenous T20 Cup to be held from 27-28 November in Orange
Sydney Thunder’s Indigenous XI, presented by Homestar Finance, are looking for a strong performance as they prepare to play the Hobart Hurricanes’ Indigenous XI at Wade Park in Orange in three T20 fixtures this week.
With players selected from across the Thunder Nation, the Indigenous T20 Cup exists to celebrate culture and promote a connection to community.
According to Daniel Dellow (Wiradjuri), who has been a regular member of the Thunder Indigenous XI, the initiative provides a great platform for Indigenous cricketers.
“I am so proud to be able to represent my family, community and people through Sydney Thunder,” Dellow said.
“Sydney Thunder have offered such a great opportunity to me and I’m thankful to be able to engage with the cricket community as well as wider community.”
While cricket is a crucial part of the Indigenous T20 Cup, the engagement across age groups and cultures helps empower the players to become leaders and grow as people.
“I believe that my Indigenous T20 Cup experiences have helped to develop my people skills and self-confidence,” Dellow said.
“The experience offers great leadership and guidance to young Indigenous men and women and I hope I can continue to work with the team and be a mentor to the younger players coming through.”
